Sustainable and Family Run
Hi! Weβre Nick and Carys Grayson, and we run Nether Haugh Farm with our three young sons; Arthur, William and Thomas. We are located just outside the historic village of Wentworth, near Rotherham.
We are 4th generation farmers and the latest in a long line of Graysons based here in Nether Haugh. The Graysons moved to the farm in 1939 and it has been farmed by the family ever since. Since taking over the reins, we have built up a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, pedigree Saddleback pigs and a mixture of sheep.
With just over 200 acres of fields across the suburbs of Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield, we are true mixed farmers with both arable and livestock working together.
We are most well known for our Christmas Turkeys, which our family has been producing for nearly 100 years. All of the turkeys are reared and prepared using traditional methods, and everything is done by us, by hand!
Alongside our farm work, Nick is the Chairman of the Future Farmers of Yorkshire, an amazing group of people committed to providing help and support to those in the agricultural industry in Yorkshire. Carys also works part time as a consultant animal nutritionist.
We are passionate about providing sustainable produce to the wider community and are committed to ensuring the protection of the land, nature and wildlife within our care.
